(WND)—It’s true that the U.S. Constitution includes protections for speech, even offensive speech. But it turns out there are some restrictions when the speaker is a government employee, and is wearing the uniform of a military branch.
And then, allegedly, goes public with a demand that the president, who is commander in chief of the military, be impeached.

Charges for alleged “contemptuous” remarks about the president. Charges for disobeying orders. Charges for conduct unbecoming an officer, a total of 10 charges.
A report at Newsweek explains Jason Watson, as a major in the U.S. Air Force, was arrested after he publicly staged an event on the steps of the U.S. Capitol calling for the impeachment of President Trump.
He insists that his belief regarding the war with Iran is different from the president’s, and his is the opinion that should be controlling in the situation.
Lawyer Christopher Mutimer, representing Watson, told Newsweek, “Major Watson acted knowing the risks to his career and his liberty. It is my hope that other Americans who feel powerless in this moment will take some measure of courage from his willingness to speak and to stand by his convictions.”
If convicted, he could be dismissed from the military and forfeit his benefits.
A report at the Gateway Pundit said such cases are very rare.
The report said Watson was arrested after a press conference “that was sponsored by far-left lunatic Rep. Al Green (D-TX), where he called for his boss, the commander in chief, to be removed and convicted.”
He claimed, at the time, “For the past 18 months, we the people have allowed the highest levels of the executive branch of the federal government to violate our Constitution and their oath to it with impunity.”
He cited military operations as well as cuts to USAID, immigration enforcement and more.
His case falls under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which has unique features from civil law.
He claimed, “You could look at everything that this administration’s doing, and there is some kind of tie-in to it being unconstitutional or illegal or corrupt or violent against American people or people living in our country.”
Green already has pushed for Trump’s impeachment.
Protests on the U.S. Capitol are prohibited unless participants are accompanied by a member of Congress. When Green left the area, Watson was arrested.
