“Sickening”: Teen Athlete Says She Was Sexually Assaulted During Wrestling Match, Now Takes Serious Action

(WND)—A Washington state girl alleges she was sexually assaulted during a state-sponsored athletic competition, and she now is suing the officials who set up the circumstances allowing the attack.

It happened as part of the state’s promotion of transgenderism, in which officials allowed a male to compete in a girls wrestling event, and kept their agenda a secret from parents and event participants.

The victim, Kallie Keller, claims it was at a Washington Interscholastic Activities Association competition in December 2025 that she was paired off, without her knowledge, with a male, who sexually assaulted her during the competition.

The legal team at the ADF is bringing the case against Washington officials on her behalf, and confirmed that, “During the match, the male athlete sexually assaulted her.

“She appeared visibly distressed while competing and tried to communicate what was happening to her mother, who was recording the match.”

The legal team noted, “The assault was not a wrestling move—it was a flagrant foul and criminal conduct—sexual assault in its truest form. She left the mat crying, but her coaches did nothing.”

The legal team noted that she learned her opponent was male from another team’s coach after the alleged assault.

Her mother, Stephanie Brown, reported the problem immediately, in writing, to school officials, with video evidence, but those officials then deliberately delayed pursuing a report with law enforcement for 53 days, allegedly in violation of a mandatory 48-hour reporting law.

“A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted because of political cowardice. Washington state officials insist on pushing gender ideology at all costs—even at the expense of girls’ safety and privacy,” charged lawyer Kate Anderson. “Our client’s story is proof of the grave harms caused by lying about biology. This must end—otherwise, girls will continue getting hurt and violated. We are urging the court to require state officials to change their policy to ensure that girls’ privacy and safety are protected when they compete in the sports they love. No girl should have to unknowingly wrestle a boy. And at a minimum, parents must be notified before their daughters are matched against male opponents.”

Anderson said, “Tragically, because of district policy, a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a male opponent on the wrestling mat. Kallie’s mom was in the gym with her daughter, but she could not protect her because the district’s written policy prohibits notifying parents or anyone else when their daughters will be matched against male athletes. She and her mother promptly reported the assault to school officials, who sat on the information for nearly two months. Washington state failed this family, but it isn’t too late to protect other girls. State officials must change their policies and prioritize girls’ safety in sports.”

According to the lawyers, the school only contacted authorities after “the story broke publicly in the media.”

“The district then told Brown and her daughter that the policy would remain the same. If she returns to wrestling, she can be matched against a male athlete again without notice and over her objection.”

The goal of the lawsuit is to protect the rights of all girls in Washington “not to be unknowingly forced to compete against a male athlete.”

The Center Square reported earlier on the travesty, explaining that the U.S. Department of Education was investigating the actions in the Puyallup School District.

“The allegations in this case are sickening—that a female athlete was not only unknowingly forced to compete against a male in a girls-only division, placing her at increased risk for sexual assault, but that her report of sexual assault during the match was ignored by Puyallup School District for months. While the District may prioritize ideological agendas over the safety and dignity of its students, the Trump Administration will not tolerate such conduct,” said Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Kimberly Richey at the time.

Authorities in the Pierce County sheriff’s office also confirmed their own investigation.
