DCNF(The Daily Caller)—Vandals sent an apparently violent message to Maine Senator Susan Collins, waiting for her on Election Day, by defacing the longtime Republican incumbent’s office during the night.

On Tuesday morning, staffers found the sidewalk outside Collins’ office in Biddeford, Maine, covered in red paint and splattered on the door with the words “blood on your hands” scrawled at the front entrance, WMTW-TV reported. The senator received the messages hours before polls close in her race for a sixth term against Democratic Senate nominee Troy Jackson — which the nonpartisan Cook Political Report rates as a “toss up.”

“This is another incident in a series and the second attempt at our Biddeford office to intimidate the senator and her staff. These tactics are disturbing, but not effective,” Collins’ chief of staff, Katie Brown, said in a statement reported by WMTW-TV. “Our staff is undeterred and on the job.”

“At 22:59 on November 2, 2026, the Biddeford Police Department received a call reporting criminal mischief (vandalism) at the Office of Senator Susan Collins, located at 160 Main Street in Biddeford,” a spokesperson for the department told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. “That matter is currently under investigation.”

Collins’ office did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

This recent attack comes after a string of vandalism attacks on the Senator during the fall. In September, an individual or group of individuals egged the Senator’s home in Bangor and about a week later the words “Trump Whore” were found spray-painted in red on her office’s doors.

Heading into election night 2026, Collins, who has been in office since 1997, is the only Republican senator to represent a state which failed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris carried in 2024.

In addition to the vandalism incidents, a Maine voter and Collins supporter Kelly Kusnirak alleged on Oct. 29 that she was duped into appearing in an ad for Jackson. Kusnirak said that she had conversely thought she would be in a pro-Collins ad.

Maine Democrats nominated Jackson, a former state Senate president, in July to replace their original nominee, Graham Platner, who had dropped out of the race due to sexual assault allegations.
