DCNF(The Daily Caller)—The sister of one of the most powerful artificial intelligence executives saw her childhood sexual abuse lawsuit against him thrown out after refusing a medical exam.

U.S. District Judge Zachary Bluestone, a Trump appointee, dismissed a lawsuit Monday in which Annie Altman accused her brother, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, of repeatedly sexually abusing and raping her within a span of nine years from 1997 to 2006, beginning when she was three years old and he was 12, court records show. The ruling concludes a nearly two-year legal fight between the two, though Mr. Altman and his family have denied the allegations, Reuters reported.

Bluestone threw out both Altman siblings’ claims after Annie refused a medical examination, though Sam is free to refile his, according to the court order.

“I am no longer authorized to comment on this case but I continue to believe in Annie,” Annie Altman’s former counsel, Santos Perez, said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Laura Politi, Annie Altman’s current counsel, and Sam Altman’s attorneys Hailyn Chen of Munger, Tolles & Olson and Jonathan Kravis of Liu Shur Kravis did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

“Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her well-being. Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult,” Sam Altman, as well as his mother and brothers, said in a statement posted to X on Jan. 7, 2025, “All of these claims are utterly untrue.”

The statement mentioned that Altman’s sister has mental health problems, she repeatedly demanded money from the family and she has a history of making “harmful” accusations against family members.

“In approximately 1997, Plaintiff, Ann Altman, was three years old … Beginning at or about that time, Defendant, Sam Altman, forced Plaintiff to touch his penis and perform oral penetration on him. Sam Altman was twelve years old at the time,” Annie Altman’s lawsuit alleged on Jan. 6, 2025.

The suit claimed these acts of abuse took place “several times per week” between 1997 and 1999, and alleged acts of “rape, sexual assault, molestation, sodomy, and battery” persisted until around 2006 when Altman was an adult.

“Defendant Sam Altman has never sexually abused his sister,” Altman’s attorneys wrote in a June 24 counterclaim filing.

“This lawsuit is just one more attempt by [Annie Altman] to use false accusations of sexual abuse to extort her family into providing her with greater and greater financial support,” Altman’s attorneys argued.

Altman had sought $1 in damages to avoid financially harming his sister, but he wants the court to rule that her allegations were false, the filing stated.
