President Trump held a news conference Saturday morning following the military raid in Caracas overnight. He said Nicolas Maduro and his wife would be tried in the Southern District of New York “for their deadly campaign of narco-terrorism against the United States and its citizens.”

He said the United States would run Venezuela until someone is brought in.
“We can’t take a chance that somebody else takes over Venezuela that doesn’t have the good of the Venezuelan people in mind,” he said.
He also noted that there would be “boots on the ground.”
