(WND)—A prominent influencer has been ordered to prison – a two-year sentence reduced to house arrest – for refusing to feed a politician’s fantasy that he is a woman.
Of course, being male or female is embedded in the human body down to the DNA level and does not change, irrespective of feelings, chemicals or surgeries.
It is LifeSiteNews that is reporting on the sentence for Bianca Barreto, a Christian influencer, who was convicted by a local court in Brazil under that nation’s “social racism” law that makes “homophobia” and “transphobia” crimes.
Those are terms that are used to denigrate those whose faith and belief to not support the extremist gender agendas adopted by many today.
The report said Barreto had criticized Duda Salabert, of Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies, a man who calls himself a woman and is a member of the leftist Socialism and Liberty Party.
She discussed a case involving Salabert and Nikolas Ferreira, a conservative member of parliament and Chamber of Deputies.
During a campaign Ferreira said he would refer to Salabert with male pronouns, stating, “He is a man. That’s what’s on his birth certificate, regardless of what he thinks.”
Salabert filed a criminal complaint against Ferreira and while that case was dismissed Ferreira was forced to pay a civil judgment of about $5,800.
Barreto’s case stemmed from her 2024 video that concluded Salabert is “a guy who says he’s a trans woman, but he’s married to a woman and has a son or daughter.”
The comments included that “It will always be a problem when these people try to impose things on us that are not real, that are a product of her imagination…”
Salabert that filed another complaint, against Barreto.
And despite Basrreto’s arguments the comments are legitimate political discourse, the judge expressed his absolute intolerance of anything he called “marginalization” of those with gender identity issues.
The judge said recognizing those self identifications is mandatory in Brazil since a 2019 Brazil Supreme Court ruling.
The report said Barreto is being allowed to serve a two-year prison term under house arrest, and she also is required to pay “damages” of about $3,800.
An appeal is pending.
