I hate to say, “I told you so,” but I posted while Kamala Harris was still a presidential candidate back in 2019 about rumors that she runs a horrible office with disgruntled staff. I wasn’t the only one saying it, but it was downplayed tremendously by “sexism nannies” who feel any criticism of a woman by a man is somehow bigoted.
Nevertheless, I dropped the story when she dropped out of the race. I had actually forgotten about it until recent weeks when the same rumors started coming from a different office: The VP’s office at the White House. Rumors of horrible work conditions and backstabbing staffers were once again suppressed, this time because corporate media thought they could keep the truth under wraps. That didn’t happen and people started leave.
Now, it appears more are heading for the door. According to Fox News:
More key members working in Vice President Kamala Harris’ office are reportedly “eyeing the exits” after a handful of staffers called it quits in recent weeks.
It was announced last week that Harris’ senior adviser Symone Sanders will leave her post by the end of the year, and according to people familiar with conversations on resignations, “key members of Harris’ orbit are leaving and even more are eyeing the exits,” Politico reported Saturday.
The report comes after Harris’ communications director Ashley Etienne resigned ahead of Thanksgiving, and two other communication aides are reportedly planning to leave their posts soon.
Fox News contributor Joe Concha called Harris’ office “a sinking ship” following Sanders’ announcement, pointing to her approval ratings. One recent poll shows her approval rating at 28%, while he had a 46% approval upon taking office.
“I guess when your boss’ approval ratings are at 28% and she’s polling even lower on her number one job, the U.S. southern border where migrants continue to flow over, two million passing over this year. I guess I would leave too, because this is a sinking ship,” said Concha Saturday.
Reports have also swirled for months that Harris’ office is toxic.
I wish I could take credit for coming up with “White House of Horrors” to describe the Kamala wing, but a long-time source at the DNC gave it to me, anonymously of course. And she didn’t make it up, either. She heard it from one of the staffers who is allegedly on his way out as well.
For someone to be able to lead a country, they need to be able to lead their office efficiency and with limited drama. If Kamala Harris’ offices, past and present, are any indicator, we’d better pray she never gets to the West Wing.
