Honoring Charlie Kirk: Using the Communist Control Act to Save Freedom

Charlie Kirk spent his adult life debating the ideas of Communism that have festered on our college campuses and seeped into our cities. He peacefully and respectfully debated opponents, despite frequent vitriolic attacks from them when they could not counter his fact-based arguments. He was always direct and always beyond patient, seeking to foster understanding.

Kirk fought Communism because it is a world-wide system of tyranny with an unstated goal of subjugating the masses. Communism is about control, not freedom. If you like choices in life, freedom to live your life and speak your mind, Communism takes all that away. Charlie knew that and knew Communism is antithetical to America’s principals. As a skilled teacher, he helped many students understand and reject Communism.

Violence is one of Communism’s primary tools to silence opponents. When Communist secured political power is threatened and the will of the people turns against Communist ideas at the ballot box, Communists employ violence. They create chaos by promoting disregard for law and order to dismantle civil society. The result is crime-riddled, poverty-stricken cities where Communists control voters with promises of free goods and services provided by government. But government has no money that it does not first take from its citizens. At some point, tax-paying citizens flee the high taxes and decaying Communist-controlled cities. What is left are cities like Detroit and Seattle, where criminals reign unchecked by the legal system, and the lack of taxpayers further accelerates the decay of once beautiful cities. Those who remain feel entitled to government hand-outs, becoming welfare slaves who often supplement free handouts with criminal activity. Those non-criminals who remain, unable to move, lose their freedoms and live in fear.

Communist attempts to overthrow our free society are not new. In 1919, Communists mailed bombs to prominent businessmen and government officials. On September 16th, 1920, Communists bombed Wall Street and the JP Morgan building. Morgan left the pock marks from the blast on the building to remind people Communism did not win – the marks may be seen to this day.

In 1954, Congress passed the Communist Control Act of 1954. This law is still valid and should be used immediately to deal with the subversive Communist element in our Congress and cities. It would allow politicians aligned with the Communist Party to be removed from office. It could also target Antifa as a terrorist organization. Many sitting in Congress right now are Communists. It’s time we clean up Congress and remove those who do not place serving American citizens as their first and only priority. At one time, our Congress understood the threat, now many in Congress are the threat.

We’ve played nice. We’ve bit out lips and tolerated violence and anti-American behavior long enough. Kirk was murdered. We have the tool to address Communism head-on and need to use it before it is too late.

Kirk also knew Communism is antithetical to Judo-Christian values that are the foundation of our country. There is no debate about that, only poorly educated people who have little knowledge of Judo-Christian values or our history.

May God bless Charlie Kirk’s family, friends, and all those who heard his words. Please keep his fight alive. To those who heard his repeated profession of faith in Christ, please consider accepting Christ into your life. I know nothing would make Charlie happier than a legacy of bringing someone to know Christ. John 3:16.

God bless and keep our nation.
