Did you know WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Facebook/Meta, turns on your microphone often to hear what you’re doing?
Elon Musk responded to a Tweet about it by Foad Dabiri who claiming WhatsApp accessed his microphone while he slept. His response: “WhatsApp cannot be trusted.”

This is why I don’t keep any messaging apps on my phone. I’m paranoid, but probably not nearly paranoid enough.
