Dan Crenshaw Doubles Down on His Neo-Con RINO Status With Attack on Freedom Caucus

The House Freedom Caucus is one of two entities that stand in the way of the unibrow party Establishment having their way on Capitol Hill. Their counterparts in the radical progressive wing of the Democrat Party often act in the same but opposite fashion. Both groups prevent their own parties from getting too cozy with the mushy middle, the “bipartisan” group that lets people like Liz Cheney and Jim Costa keep the big-spending machine alive and well in the House.

Congressman Dan Crenshaw, once heralded as a staunch conservative while on the campaign trail, has systematically allowed his Neo-Conservative nature to come out during his three-year tenure on Capitol Hill. Admittedly, I supported him in the beginning, but as I’ve watched disappointing stance after disappointing stance creep into his rhetoric and guide his actions, I’ve come to feel like I was sold a bag of goods.

His most recent speech was the last straw. According to The Blaze:

U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) blasted members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus as “grifters” and “performance artists” at an event with Houston-area Republican congressional candidates on Sunday.

“I’ve been in Congress for almost three years now. There’s two types of members in Congress: There’s performance artists, there’s legislators,” Crenshaw told the audience at a campaign event featuring GOP candidates Wesley Hunt and Morgan Luttrell, a retired Navy SEAL and the twin brother of Marcus Luttrell.

“Now, the performance artists are the ones that get all the attention, the ones you think are more ‘conservative’ because they know how to say slogans real well. They know how to recite the lines that they know that our voters want to hear,” he continued.

Without naming anyone specifically, Crenshaw criticized Freedom Caucus conservatives for voting against some bills that former President Donald Trump and a majority of the House GOP conference supported. He also defended Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a vocal Trump critic, as a House member that “voted with Trump almost 99%. He was number 2.”

Attacking the Freedom Caucus and supporting Adam Kinzinger should be the last straw for anyone who was holding out hope that Dan Crenshaw is a conservative. He is not. He rests in the mushy middle where Neo-Conservatism runs rampant.
