(Just The News)−A Missouri man has been arrested for manufacturing explosive materials in connection with the New Year’s terrorist attack in New Orleans last year.
Jordan Derrick was charged in the Western District of Missouri with one count of engaging in the business of manufacturing explosive materials, one count of unlawfully possessing a firearm and one count of distributing information related to explosives.
Until now, it was thought the attack was committed by a lone perpetrator, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who drove his car down Bourbon Street, killing 14 people and injuring 57. Aside from releasing the charges, no other information was provided about Derrick.
Jabbar was a 42-year-old Army veteran from Texas who was killed that night. The Federal Bureau of Investigation later said it appeared he acted alone and that there was no evidence the attack was directed by a foreign terrorist organization, despite Jabbar having an ISIS flag in his truck.
