(WND)—A member of Congress called “America’s least favorite barmaid” has mischaracterized the American Revolution as being a war against “the billionaires of their time,” and was rebuked online with: “Read a book.”
It is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, D-N.Y., in fact a former barmaid, who created the statement that “The American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time.”
Twitchy, however, compiled a few of the facts about that particular Revolution, which were unsupportive of her claims.
Twitchy commented, “There’s a reason that men who signed the Declaration of Inedpenence and fought the war pledged their fortunes to the fight. They were ALL wealthy landowners, the same people AOC claims to hate today.”
Mike Lee noted, “No, AOC, the American Revolution was NOT ‘against the billionaires of their time.’ It was against a large, distant, overly intrusive government that recognized no limits over its own auithority to tax, regulate, and eat out the substance of the citizens it claimed to serve.”
One commenter posted the sarcastic conclusion from Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., about the intelligence level held by AOC: “I think she’s the reason there are directions on a shampoo bottle.”
